SARTORIA DA GIGINO03-02-2021 in Our craftsmen stories

Sartoria da Gigino, was born in the 1950s on the island of Capri. These were the years of full excitement and the desire to return to travel after World War II. In fact, the island was frequented by international stars and important political figures during the summer.
This small tailor's shop soon became famous for its Caprese-style tailored trousers and rigorously tailored shirts.
Gigino and his wife Marialuisa, both skilled tailors, used only precious materials, making timeless garments to perfection. Today the ancient Caprese tailoring tradition is carried on thanks to the sons Michele and Augusto who have reinterpreted the solid family brand in a modern way, renaming the boutique with the name of Laboratorio Capri.
Capri pants, elegant silk caftans, 60s-style dresses, woven basket bags, are the most popular garments and accessories of this shop that makes each collection in its Capri tailor shop after more than 50 years under the supervision of the "masters" tailors Gigino and Marialuisa.
