Capri... Behind the scenes

CAPRI... BEHIND THE SCENES in Discovering Capri

Capri, Island of Love, of celebrities, of good life, of sea and sun. The island of Faraglioni, of the Piazzetta, and the Blue Grotto, the shopping streets of class and small boutiques. Yes, Capri is all this, a perfect mix of natural beauty and worldly life possible on this enchanted like nowhere else in the world. There is a part of Capri, however, hidden to most. We can define the intimate part of an island visited every year by thousands people. A place where, who ventures, can breathe in the air of Capri. Not only beaches and smell of the sea, but the oldest and strong aromas of leather and fabrics, of true like in short. It's 'just in the small medieval streets surrounding the Piazzetta that, from immemorial time, are located the small artisans shops, that, day after day, produce with their own hands, unique and durable. The alleys where the children played with the "strummolo" or with rare leather footballs. The alleys where women passed carrying on their heads, because the streets are too narrow, baskets full of all kinds of goods. The narrow alley that runs along the St. Anne's Church and the streets covered porches leading to the monastery of Teresa Sisters, the beautiful Via Valentino, Via Longano, Street of Shops and many more are the example of what was said. These hidden corners and were enchanted theater glimpses of true life caprese, made of small things, simple artisans and smiling people who cordially greeted those who ventured to the streets almost inaccessible. Today, walking for these maze of alleyways, we discover landscapes that evoke distant times as never before in recent times, it is trying to bring back to the glories of the past.  These landscapes inspired Capri craftsmen today.  Tradition that embraces modernity in a mix of shapes and classic products with a hint of extravagance own modern times. And it is so 'that the sandal in leather  "wears" glitter and stones that make it a precious jewel; the simple and fresh linen tunic becomes precious thanks to finishing and special cuts; the yarns are no longer raw. Today become fine but worked in the tradition of craftsmanship. To remain for a few days in Capri, our advice is to get lost in these streets (you will never lost the way back, as we say on the island: - "all roads lead to the Piazzetta"), breathing in the scent and seize as more real there is on the Island of the Sirens, crossing the looks of the islanders and flush out the hidden beauty of a place obviously gorgeous.
